Elidus Kuben Wall Lights by Björn Svensson
Designed by Björn Svensson for the Swedish lighting manufacturer Elidus in the 1970s, this pair of Kuben wall lights is a playful and enduring example of Scandinavian mid-century lighting design.
Although the Kuben has long been attributed to Hans-Agne Jakobsson, the design is now recognised as the work of Björn Svensson during his time at Elidus. Today it remains one of the sought-after Swedish lighting designs of the period, admired for its restrained form and unmistakable seventies character.
Defined by its solid geometric silhouette and retro yellow finish, the Kuben combines architectural simplicity with a warm, atmospheric quality of light. A recessed bulb sits behind Elidus' distinctive grid diffuser, softening glare while casting a gentle illumination that makes these equally suited to bedside use, hallways or accent lighting.
Both lamps remain in excellent vintage condition with only light signs of age consistent with careful use. They retain their original wall mounts with integrated switches, are fitted with a European plug and are fully functional.
