Teak & Sisal Pendant Lamp by Temde
Produced during the 1960s by Temde Leuchten, this rare pendant lamp reflects the warm organic modernism that defined much of the era’s Swiss and Scandinavian lighting design.
Constructed from sculptural bent teak and woven sisal, the lamp combines natural materials with a highly architectural silhouette, softly diffusing light through its integrated opaline glass globe. The contrast between the warm teak frame and textured sisal shade gives the piece a distinctly atmospheric quality, equally suited to both contemporary and mid-century interiors.
Temde became internationally recognised for its use of timber and natural fibres, producing lighting that balanced functionality with sculptural form. This example remains one of the manufacturer’s most iconic and sought-after designs.
The lamp remains in excellent vintage condition, with the sisal shade, teak frame and original diffuser exceptionally well preserved for its age.
For safety and compatibility, we advise having all lighting professionally installed and checked by a qualified electrician. Vintage pieces may occasionally require adjustments to suit local electrical standards.
